Consciousness beyond biologically living things

By October 2, 2019 Posts

Today great efforts are made to search the universe for biological living things however little attention is given in mainstream science to the possibility that the universe as a whole is conscious as well as every part within it. What evidence do we have that consciousness only exists in what we call biological living things rather than astral bodies such as the stars or planets?

If we are to ascertain that evidence of consciousness is movement not instigated by an external force, then as we look closely, everything in the universe is in motion as well as every part of it, therefore it can’t be evidence of the non-existence of consciousness. Instead, our criteria for consciousness is limited to something relatable and understandable from the perspective of our own human state of consciousness. If this is part of our criteria then could this not in itself limit us in being able to recognise more highly evolved forms of consciousness to just lower or similar forms of consciousness to our own?

From our scientific perspective, we often look back at ancient cultures such as the Mayans or Egyptians that believed consciousness exists in the sun, stars, rivers, and mountains as being backward, however maybe having scientific theories about the universe that dont integrate consciousness as a fundamental thing is something even more absurd!
